Our b-board is here for swing dancers to discuss swing events, but please don't post events that directly compete with CCSwing events. Our regular event is Thursday night swing at Hot Water. ____________________________________________ All b-board communities ask you to comply with their set of rules & regs. Ours are simple, and they are: Be considerate when posting. You are invited to post your ideas, likes & dislikes without being cruel or mean to others. Do not post anything threatening, hateful or illegal. Do not post false information. Only the poster is responsible for his or her post. CC Swing is not responsible for posts made by guests or members! If you are under 13 years old, you must have permission of a parent or guardian to register. ------------------------------ You must register & log in to post. ------------------------------ For those of you out there who don't know how a B-Board functions.....here is an overview & a list of glitches: The b-board is a program running that converts what you type to a readable form in the proper forum. This board has a couple of glitches. Don't take it personally if a topic dissappears. It has happened about 3 times in 3 years. It is a malfunction that I've attempted to repair, & it seems to be working now..... I may move a topic posted in the wrong forum. Your light bulb markers will show you where all the new action is....this is the only automatic notification, and it is only visible if you are registered & logged-in. If you do not see light bulb thingies, it is because you are not logged in. You will see no markers to show you what is added or moved since your last visit. To Register Of course, to log in, you must register. Look to the column at the right for the words, "Not Registered?" and click there. Or look for the words "Register for Free" at the top, and click there. Lost your Password? There are at least a couple of ways to get your password if you've forgotten it. Look for the words, "Lost Password" at the column on the right and click there. Or look for the words "Lost Password" at the top and click there. You can have your password emailed to you. If your problem cannot be solved in that way, email me. I'll see if I can retrieve it. Where did that post go? Posts do not stay on the board forever. Some forums will have unused topics pruned after 60 days, some forums are small and can carry the load of topics for a year or so. If the file size of the b-board gets too large, I must delete dead topics. I try to spend as little housekeeping time as possible (much like my home). I mostly let the program do its thing. The Topic count in the 'Speaking of Swing' forum is usually wrong - I fix it frequently - it does not stay fixed. Questions? Post in the feedback forum, and I'll answer as best I can. What's with the light bulb thingies? Forums and topics are marked when there are new topics or replies. The markers appear only when you are registered and logged-in.
 | Locked topic - no new replies accepted
| | Open topic - new replies since last visit | | Open topic - nothing new since last visit
| | Hot Topic = 12 replies or more New replies since last visit | | Hot topic - nothing new since last visit
| The markers remain lit for your entire visit, but if you read that topic, and then leave the board, the bulbs will be off on your next visit. (Unless there is something new again) I have experienced occassional glitches in this program.... my apologies....I can only do so much. The Lurking Kitty that you see on the b-board will gladly do a 'cat scan' for you if you click him. He'll show you who is online and what topics they are currently reading.
