Lindyfest with the Lone Star Championships is the largest and most dynamic Lindy Hop event in Texas. This year marks the 24th annual Lindyfest and the 13th annual Lone Star Championships!
DANCE PASSES – We’ve tweaked the structure of our pricing to allow you more choices and more opportunity to participate. The base ticket this year is our Dance Pass. In addition to the dances and watching competitions, this pass allows you the option to purchase classes and/or compete.
TRACK AND ADD-ON CLASSES – Tracked Classes give you an 8-hour tailored learning experience. Add-On Classes allow you to choose your own learning adventure. They don't overlap, so you can do as much or as little as you like. All from some of the best dance instructors in the world!
BANDS – Naomi & Her Handsome Devils play Friday and Saturday nights, and the Jonathan Doyle Swingtet plays late night Saturday!
TEAM PERFORMANCES – Represent your city/group in our team performances on Thursday night. Bring 8+ people and show us what you got!
CROSSOVER DRAW CONTEST – Back this year, the winners of the Newcomer and Intermediate Draw contests will participate in a crossover draw contest with some of our international instructors!
ADVANCED DRAW CONTEST – It's BACK! We heard your feedback and are bringing back the advanced division. This year there are Newcomer, Intermediate, Advanced, All-Star, and Invitational Lindy Hop Draw contests.
GROUPED TRACK PLACEMENTS – Like last year, we’re putting a big investment into track placements so they’ll be relatively painless for you and more accurate for everyone.
VINO AND VINYL – Rejuvenate with Jon Tigert at our vino and vinyl on Saturday evening. Listen to amazing jazz songs that you might not hear on the dance floor.
LATE NIGHT SNACKS – No buffets for purchase this year. Expect free late night snacks!
SUNDAY HOUSE PARTY – We're gonna get it on Sunday night with 50s / 60s soul and r&b to kick off the house party, then bring it home with everything from funk to hip hop. Learn house dancing from LaTasha and line dances with Peter before the party!
Welcome back to Lindyfest 2020!
Lindyfest is all about community. We've worked hard since last year to create an event that brings everyone together. We hope our changes to the structure and feel of the event build community in our classes, contests, and overall event.
For classes, you'll stay with your track for all of the classes this year, which will allow everyone to really get to know each other and help each other grow.
For contests, we really loved how the crossover draw contest allowed up-and-coming dancers a chance to compete with international instructors, so that's coming back; and as always we have a feedback session for our newcomer competitors to ask questions.
Other event community building things include our vino and vinyl listening party and free late night snacks for people to spend time outside of dancing together; team performances so more people are able to show what they are working on, and free free activities for friends and family like our Thursday night dance, watching prelims on Friday, and our inside the dancers’ studio.
