Here's what you need to know:
7:00-7:15 - Registration and Warmup
7:15-8:15 - Lindy Hop 101 Part 3 of 4 with BJ and Lyndsey

This is a 4 part progressive series where you’ll learn 8-count Lindy footwork, frame, connection, swingout, circle and some  basic moves. Perfect for those who are brand new to Lindy Hop as well as veterans working on their foundations.

8:15-8:30 - Registration, Warmup and Level Tests (as needed)
8:30-9:30 - Jazz 301 Part 4 of 5 with Tory and Lyndsey

That's right!  We're taking 5 weeks to tackle this beast! If you're ready to level up your solo dancing, this class will get you into some more intermediate jazz moves, fast footwork, and tricky choreography when we conquer the Big Apple.  It's a fun, fast paced piece choreographed by Frankie Manning in the late 1930s and still popular today.  Some experience in jazz choreography is required (Shim Sham/Tranky Doo).

Mid-month drop ins and level qualifications will be assessed by the teachers and staff.

$25 for 4 class series, $30 for 5 class series -  $10 drop in (20% discount with valid student or military ID

Remember: No street shoes on the dance floor! Bring a water bottle, as the only water source is the bathroom sink. There is some AC in the building, but it's still likely to get a little warm once you get moving -- bring a change of shirt or towel if you think you'll need it!

7-7:15 - Registration and Warmup

7:15-8:15 - Blues 101 - The focus of this beginner series will be on the sorts of techniques, body framing, and connection that gets more experienced dancers to go "hold on, you've only been blues dancing for how long???" These classes will be approachable to the total beginner, but also content that someone who's played around with blues or been to Bluetopia or MadCity would be excited to learn.  https://www.facebook.com/events/2048087148799246/

8:15-8:30 - Registration/Warm-up/Level test as needed

8:30-9:00 Blues 201 - Branching into Ballroomin' - This series will feature harder content at a faster pace, and will deal with the skills necessary to make the difficult transition in blues from an accomplished beginner to a solid intermediate dancer. We will be focusing specifically on the jazzy, lyrical half of blues dances, known as the "ballroomin'" genre, which feature close embrace and lots of body work. We will explore the art of dancing performatively and authentically, tackle techniques to make your predictive movement powerful, dig deep into blues musicality, liberate both follows and leads to find their place in the dance and in so doing find their voice. **Prior blues dance experience is required to take this series.**  https://www.facebook.com/events/2048899168655479/

MS Fundraiser Dance!

It's Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month and World MS day is March 30.

As some of you may know, our dear friend behind the bar every week, Scott, rides in the MS Snowmobile Tour to raise funds for the National MS Society every year. Portions of everyone's entry/lesson fee from tonight will be pooled and donated to his campaign (no special pricing for this event, our normal prices will apply).

Like we've done for past fundraisers, we'll have a place available for you to kick in extra cash if you feel so inclined.

Hope to see everyone out to help support this cause -- Scott takes such good care of us every week, let's show him a little love.

*About Charleston 103:  Solo Charleston routine.  Solo Charleston is a natural place to add a few of the most popular vernacular Jazz movements including Fall of the Log, Fish Tails, Around the World, and Suzy-Q's, into your dance vocabulary. These traditional moves from the 20's and 30's are blended into a short 1 minute routine with natural transitions and a little sass. We hope to finish this routine in one session, but our focus is to get everyone in the class ready to dance it to music. If we don't finish we will finish in the second session.

Monday Lessons! Lindy Hop 101 & 201

Here's what you need to know:
7:00-7:15 - Registration and Warmup
7:15-8:15 - Lindy Hop 101 Part 1 of 4 with BJ and Jenny

Build a strong foundation! This class will be presented in 4 progressive parts during which teachers will cover the 8-count Lindy footwork, frame, connection, Lindy swingout and circle and a selection of basic moves. It will be geared towards those who are brand new to Lindy Hop but is perfect for those interested in improving their technique.

8:15-8:30 - Registration, Warmup and Level Tests (as needed)
8:30-9:30 - Lindy 201 Part 1 of 4 with BJ and Jenny

These classes will seek to elevate your dancing to give you a musicality and flow. We'll challenge what you already know, maybe break a rule or two, nudge you out of your comfort zone, and push your dancing out of the classroom and onto the social floor. You'll need to have a fair amount of Lindy experience under your belt (that is, a deep comfort in your Lindy basics) to qualify for this class. Unsure? Just ask!

Mid-month drop ins and level qualifications will be assessed by the teachers and staff.

$25 for 4 class series, $10 drop in (20% discount with valid student or military ID

Remember: No street shoes on the dance floor! Bring a water bottle, as the only water source is the bathroom sink. There is some AC in the building, but it's still likely to get a little warm once you get moving -- bring a change of shirt or towel if you think you'll need it!
