Monday Lessons! Lindy Hop and Lindy Chorus

It's Lindy Hop time again at Daync!

Join us in October for your Lindy Basics or Lindy Choreography wth Eric and Pam!

We often get requests from within the scene and in the community about a performance group, so this is your chance! More info below!

Here's what you need to know:
7:00-7:15 - Registration and Warmup
7:15-8:15 - Level 1 Lindy Hop
This class will be presented in 4 progressive parts during which teachers will cover the 8-count Lindy footwork, proper frame, connection, Lindy swingout and circle and a selection of basic moves. It will be geared towards those who are brand new to Lindy Hop but is perfect for those interested in improving their technique.

8:15-8:30 - Level 2 Registration, Warmup and Level Tests (as needed)
8:30-9:30 - Level 2 Lindy Chorus
Come on out and learn a classic piece of Frankie Manning choreography, Lindy Chorus. Though much of swing is an improvised social dance, there are lots of benefis to learning some choreography now and again. It can help finess transitions and improve musicality. It's a fun routine that blends Lindy, Charleston and Jazz steps, and, depending on how quickly the class picks up the routine, there might be some opportunities to create some variations of your own. Knowledge of Lindy Chorus will be required for an upcoming performance opportunity, so don't miss out! Prerequisites: Lindy swingout and circle, basic Charleston.

Mid-month drop ins and level qualifications will be assessed by the teachers and staff.

$25 for 4 class series, $10 drop in (20% discount with valid student or military ID

Remember: No street shoes on the dance floor! Bring a water bottle, as the only water source is the bathroom sink. There is some AC in the building, but it's still likely to get a little warm once you get moving -- bring a change of shirt or towel if you think you'll need it!
