Join us at Daync this month for a new series - Intro to Dance Styles (Level 1+)! We'll explore 3 other styles of dance outside of the "swing" umbrella - all of which will introduce skills you can use to improve technique and/or add variations to your swing skills. Though this is a level 2 class, the classes themselves will be beginner level. A level 2 comfort in Lindy Hop is preferred, but equal comfort in 6-count will also qualify.
Week 3: Tap for Swing Dancers with Lyndsey! Work on fast footwork, balance, and rhythm variations to interject into your swing. Leave your tap shoes at home. They will NOT be allowed on the floor and not needed for the purposes of this class -- plan on wearing your regular dance shoes.
Classes will run about 1 1/2 hours each and there will be time set aside at the end to work on your own or with a partner on applying what you've learned. These are all standalone classes, but you can save some money if you take the whole 3 part series.
$32 for 3 class series, $12 drop in (20% discount with valid student or military ID)
Remember: No street shoes on the dance floor! Bring a water bottle, as the only water source is the bathroom sink. There is some AC in the building, but it's still likely to get a little warm once you get moving -- bring a change of shirt or towel if you think you'll need it!
